Royal Corinthian Yacht Club
BRIEF; to provide a screen to conceal the door to the kitchens and provide a servery. The screen was designed by Sue Rogerson with a glassed area to allow maximum light behind, the glass was etched depicting racing classic yachts drawn by Sue and provided both light and concealed the kitchen area from diners. The screen designed as a bar provided a work surface and concealed storage area under for the cutlery trolley.
The existing clear glassed folding panels divided the room for 2 smaller function rooms but provided no privacy between the two separate areas,The glassed panels were etched with action designs of yachts providing the necessary privacy whilst retaining the light. Glass panels on the doors to the bar and a window which looked onto fencing were etched with the RCYC crest.
Fibre Optic mood lighting was installed and housed within the pelmets to wash colour onto the ceiling with an option of any colour or morphing from one colour to another, creating a relaxing ambience for diners and changing colours for Discos and Balls. Italian wall uplighters were installed on the pillars adding a soft flood of light up the pillars and onto the ceiling, the walls and ceilings were painted a neutral warm cream.
A timeless fabric design from Romo was chosen by Sue for the curtains and pelmets and she designed the pelmets in segments for easy removal and storage for when the summer marquee was added. The brief was to provide an overall timeless design, pleasing to all and in keeping with the property. Design Interiors provided the designs and carried out all refurbishment works.
